HClinic Yonibana

In a country shattered by a civil war, where the primary healthcare has been destroyed completely, we – together with our partners – have launched the clinic Yonibana. It is run by an international team of physicians and local volunteers who visit the clinic several times a year. Now, we want to turn the clinic into a facility that is operated year-round.

Our project

The project was launched in 2008 when the medical base station was built. It consisted of an operating theatre, treatment rooms, dentist’s facilities, a pharmacy and a ward with 5 beds.

Furthermore, there is a guest wing for international doctors and the care team. A well providing freshwater has also been put in place.

Our goal

It is our goal to turn the clinic into a self-sustainable facility operating year-round. In order to achieve this, we support the Better Lives Foundation as well as local partners in developing various agricultural projects the profits of which shall benefit the clinic. Furthermore, the medical training for physicians and health care specialists in the country as well as malaria prevention and control is under way.

The rural population of the Yonibana region should be given a better chance of survival in order to allow people to go to school and obtain economic independence.
